Rev. Stephen F. Whaley, Rector

The Rev. Stephen F. Whaley joined the St. Peter’s family on July 23rd 2018.  Fr. Stephen was born and raised in the Houston area.  He was ordained in the Diocese of Texas in 2003 and enjoys serving as a priest and pastor.  He has served several communities in the diocese including, Kingwood, Nacogdoches, Center, and Stafford.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Environmental Design at Texas A&M University College of Architecture and his Master of Divinity at The University of the South, Sewanee.  He and his wife, Kate have been married since 1997.  They have two children, Matthew and Mary Kathryn.  Fr. Stephen enjoys concerts, watching sports, and cycling.



Dr. Joanne Clark, Music Director

Joanne Vollendorf Clark, our new Music Director moved to Brenham from Dearborn, Michigan.  Dr. Clark studied at The University of Michigan with Dr. Robert Glasgow and Sacred Music at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She has worked with Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, and Episcopal faiths and taught at Wayne State University, University of Detroit Mercy, and at Marygrove College where she was Chair of the Music Department for six years. In the past, she has been Dean of the American Guild of Organists, Ann Arbor and Detroit Chapters, and State Chair of Sacred Music for the American Choral Directors. She has been heard in concerts in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Texas, Michigan, California, Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, England, and Canada.

Joanne grew up on a dairy farm in rural Wisconsin. Her hobbies include cooking, listening to music, studying antiques, and of course, her standard poodle Wolfie. She finds Brenham to be a very friendly community and is enjoying meeting people and working at St. Peter’s.

Carol Muegge, Ministry & Communication Coordinator

Carol and her husband, John, began attending St. Peter’s in 1998 soon after they moved to Brenham from Austin.  Following a career as an account executive, she began working full-time for St. Peter’s as Ministry and Communication Coordinator in 2007.  She currently is a part-time employee with duties including the website administrator, designing promotional materials, providing communication both external and internal, and coordinator for special events and ministries such as our mobile food pantry.  In her free time she enjoys visiting with friends, reading, gardening and visiting her three grandchildren.
