The Rev. Stephen F. Whaley joined the St. Peter’s family on July 23rd 2018. Fr. Stephen was born and raised in the Houston area. He was ordained in the Diocese of Texas in 2003 and enjoys serving as a priest and pastor. He has served several communities in the diocese including, Kingwood, Nacogdoches, Center, and Stafford. He earned his undergraduate degree in Environmental Design at Texas A&M University College of Architecture and his Master of Divinity at The University of the South, Sewanee. He and his wife, Kate have been married since 1997. They have two children, Matthew and Mary Kathryn. Fr. Stephen enjoys concerts, watching sports, and cycling.
Carol Peterson, Deacon
The Rev. Carol Peterson joined our church staff in February 2016. She was ordained a Vocational Deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming in 2008 and served there until her move to Brenham in the fall of 2015. Carol is a retired nurse and holds BS and MS degrees from the University of Wyoming. She has over 40 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors in a variety of health and wellness settings. Carol’s diaconal work has focused on advocating for the hungry, the poor and the marginalized. She also promotes health and wellness initiatives at the parish and diocesan levels. Carol is widowed and blessed to be the mother of two adult children and the grandmother of four fantastic grandchildren.
Dr. Joanne Clark, Music Director
Joanne Vollendorf Clark, our new Music Director moved to Brenham from Dearborn, Michigan. Dr. Clark studied at The University of Michigan with Dr. Robert Glasgow and Sacred Music at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She has worked with Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, and Episcopal faiths and taught at Wayne State University, University of Detroit Mercy, and at Marygrove College where she was Chair of the Music Department for six years. In the past, she has been Dean of the American Guild of Organists, Ann Arbor and Detroit Chapters, and State Chair of Sacred Music for the American Choral Directors. She has been heard in concerts in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Texas, Michigan, California, Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, England, and Canada.
Joanne grew up on a dairy farm in rural Wisconsin. Her hobbies include cooking, listening to music, studying antiques, and of course, her standard poodle Wolfie. She finds Brenham to be a very friendly community and is enjoying meeting people and working at St. Peter’s.
Amy Schramm, Parish Administrator
Amy Schramm and her husband Aaron began attending St. Peter’s in April 2015 in hopes of finding a new church family. One year later in April 2016, she was received and her husband confirmed into the Episcopal faith, thereby becoming official members of St. Peter’s. Amy currently sings in the choir, is a lector, and is a member of the Daughters of the King. She was the youth minister as well until accepting the position of parish administrator in August 2017.
Carol Muegge, Ministry & Communication Coordinator
Carol and her husband, John, began attending St. Peter’s in 1998 soon after they moved to Brenham from Austin. Following a career as an account executive with Lexis/Nexis, she began working full-time for St. Peter’s as Ministry and Communication Coordinator in 2007. She currently is a part-time employee with duties including the website administrator, designing promotional materials, providing communication both external and internal, and coordinator for special events and ministries. In her free time she enjoys visiting with friends, reading, gardening and visiting her three grandchildren.
Suzzanne McDaniel, Accounting Administrator
Suzzanne came on board with St. Peter’s in November 2018 as Accounting Administrator. She has served in administrative roles in the oil and gas industry and holds a Texas Real Estate License. She is involved with many youth activities and loves watching competitive gymnastics, Friday night football and working with others in the agriculture community. Suzzanne is very happy to get to know the people at St. Peter’s and is very encouraged by the many great activities that members participate in on a weekly basis.
