Adult Sunday School

Twelve sessions on the topic of "Love" begins January 8 at 9:15 am.  Prof. Richard Stadelmann will lead an abridged version of his regularly scheduled class that he teaches at Texas A&M University.  What is Love? How does Christian Love differ from ordinary love?  What are the types of love? What have been the dominant concepts of love from 500 BCE to the present?  What does the Bible say about love?

All adults in the Brenham community are welcomed to join.

  

Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) - Juniors & Seniors meet on alternate Sundays.

 

Kindermusik® Classes

"Wiggles and Giggles" Fridays at 10:00 and 11:00. Ages18 months through 3 years.

 

Bible Studies:

"Walking through the Word" Wednesdays at 10:00 am in the Library.  Teaching and discussion as it proceeds through the books of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. They are beginning the study of a new chapter of the Bible, Numbers, and  new book in the series Genesis to Revelation study “Numbers and Deuteronomy” put out by Abingdon Press.

 

"Grounded in the Word" Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall. This study is lead by Fr. David and focuses on seven books of the Bible everyone should know.  This year the study is on Exodus.  The class is using: "Exploring Exodus - The Origins of Biblical Israel" by Nahum M. Sarna

 

Beth Moore's "Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy"

Second session begins January 26 from 9:00 - 11:00 am.

Free nursery provided. $15.00 for workbook

A faith-building study of prophecy, and how to shine for Christ in our modern culture. How individuals can lie with integrity in today's self-absorbed society. Call to register.

 

Journey in Faith (JIF)

After 10:30 service.

The catechumenal process for adult Baptism, Confirmation or Re-Affirmation of Baptismal Vows.  The participants along with sponsors meet most Sundays from fall until Lent.  There is a Lenten Retreat culminating in the Great Vigil of Easter. It has a variety of presenters on matters of The Faith and one's own faith journey.

 

Youth Confirmation Class

Meets various Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to noon.

 

Tuesday Night Study Group

Next meets February 28 at 7:00 pm in the Library

The group selects, reads, and discusses books that explore the Christian faith.  Participants include members of St. Peter's, non-members, and members of other denominations.  All who desire to broaden their understanding of their own faith and the community of faith through reading and discussion are welcome to join the group.  For Lent the Group selected "The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus" by Lee Strobel.  This book won a Gold Medallion Book award and was twice nominated for the Christian Book of the Year award.

Practice is Wednesdays from 4:00 - 5:00

 

Daughters of the King

Meet on the first Sunday of the month immediately following the 10:30 AM service.

Book Club

Third Friday of the month at noon. Next meeting is February 17 and they are reading Winter Ghosts by Kate Moss.
